Båstad wants to highlight examples of good architecture that strengthens the city center and landscape. As a part of this, the county board has instituted an architecture prize which was awarded for the first time at the Business Gala on 21 October 2021. The purpose of the prize is to draw attention to buildings and facilities with high architectural quality that contribute to the municipality's vision of “a better way of life” and through good design developed the local identity and building culture.
Beslag Design, architect Kay Linghoff and the construction company MMB is awarded the prize with the following motivation:
« Retro-inspired building that gives the business area a character of urban and well-designed premises for the "industries" of our time. »
– We are extremely proud to be part of such a context. Our investment in a new office and warehouse here in Båstad has not only yielded results for a good working environment but also for raising the quality of the built environment, says Hans Bergström, Beslag Design.
At the beginning of 2020, Beslag Design's new warehouse and office were ready. A building that took its starting point in the company's almost 50-year history. With the help of architect Kay Linghoff, a building was created where everything is connected, both outside and inside. The black-and-white-gray color scale is found everywhere: on the facade, walls and floors, the glass doors and on the molded glass sections - as well as on furniture and other furnishings. All to create a cozy, peaceful and trendy environment.
